have a child and I've seen firsthand that it works better than anything else to get kids to behave." I thoroughly agree with this. If the kid does what you tell him to, you know you're doing something right. My wife consistently burnt my coffee before I started beating her, and nothing seemed to work. After she realized that burning it would get her a punch in the face, my coffee has been perfect! Clearly beating is a working method. Asking her to 'just be careful' wasn't enough, despite what you unmarried hippies preach.

kids are meant to be beat. That's why they're so resilient.

i believe that when i have children, those lil bastards are gettin the belt, if their misbehaviors warrant them

You have to do whatever you have to do to teach a child right from wrong. I think it's hypocritical however for parents to hit their child then tell their child hitting is wrong. It's a lose/lose situation.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Ignoring the fact that you're being a dickhead for a minute, we've all been children at some point so we are the best people to have an opinion.

It surprises me that no one realized that the OP was being sarcastic yet.

I'm not gonna spank my children. I'm going to use Cesar Millan psychology on them.

You certainly can have an opinion about spanking without having children. I will spank mine when and it is warranted
