A person from these forums experienced a tragic loss and I'm reminded why many people seek a faith system - it offers hope and comfort. As a non-believer, to some it may appear that I can offer no hope. But that would simply deny the beauty and magic of the lives we live - as if that were not enough. I wish you healing my friend.

yep youre right, thats why we should believe in whatever faith we have.. BUT to a certain extent, not letting that faith controling our lives nor our ways of thinking..

Tragedies also help a person strengthen his relationship with God. I think faith is merely an abstract way to show that there is an inviolable believe system. But God exists regardless of whether a person lives with faith or not.

No, the tragedy itself is not. How we emerge from tragedy can make a difference for good, however.

What makes you inquire that? Tragedies help a person rekindle his faith, and thereby he feels closer to God.

I totally agree, but its when people abuse their faith systems that it gets on my nerves
