How does one start listening to music. Like, how do they know of the so many new bands and finding songs to your taste. I'm really new to the music world, and have never actively listened to music before. Only in stores and such. Personally, from what I've gaged, I like electronica/dance music (think lady gaga) and the complete opposite, meaningful songs, which are soft and such. I don't really know the genre name for it. I hate hard rock. I'm fine with lighter versions (I like linkin park) So how do i get into the world of music and figure out what new songs are there and how to hear the new songs and such?

Listen to what you like, then delve into more of that artists music. If your listening on youtube, a lot of people leave top 10 artists comments on some videos, you can go to those artists and have a listen. Also the related videos box is a godsend.
