All you really learn is how to mix good drinks

Uh, no.

Not at all. Not at my university anyway. The engineering faculty is one of the toughest in the country and it has an 100% job placement rate. The companies won't hire idiots.

Where on earth did you hear that?

Why don't so many people not put "the" before "University?"

A lot of things you learn in school in general is crap. It often doesn't pertain much to working after you graduate. The thing is that it's a process that you should go through to get a degree, and as little relevance as it may have to a job, it's considered and looked at.

Generally, if you go through college and think most of what you learned was crap, you're a dumbass who thought you were going to a vocational school.

Not really... I mean, it depends on what you consider 'crap'.  You may not care about certain things, but they are all valid and true.  You can't become a doctor if you don't have an education, and they learned about anatomy, chemistry and biology from somewhere.  Is that information considered 'crap'?  Maybe it is to you, but it's necessary for that profession.  Just like knowing certain things are necessary for others.

It may also depend on the school that you go to.

Well that's probably what wannabes go around saying. The programs at my colleges are pretty good and the curriculum is also comprehensive.

If that's the value someone puts on their education then yes.

Anyone who isn't a moron would value their education for all it's worth.
