Carbon dating Carbon dating is not used to date the earth, since it (1) it can only date organic material and (2) is not used to date objects older than around 50 000 years. http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/faq-age-of-earth.html Try Rubidium-Strontium, Argon-Potassium, Samarium-neodymium, Uranium-Lead dating and many more. Not that all of these converge on the exact same result.
