So he goes to an exam, and I go to the gym. It`s obvious I will finish around the time he finishes his 2-hour exam. I phone him, and he tells me he`s already gone home.
Is this thoughtless? Or am I over reacting?
And I  was the one who phoned!
He never phones me, I always have to phone him. And he never tells me his plans. Am I being controlling? Or is this justified, since I AM in a foreign country and living with him?

It annoys me

So what if he has gone home already? I don't get what the problem is--did you two have plans together for afterwards? If not, then yes, you are definitely overreacting!

But should he not have at least mentioned it? It was pretty obvious I was going to wait around for him if we finished at the same time

I think kind of, unless you find it difficult to get back to his. If you're in a foreign country, it would be nice for him to be a bit more considerate.

its not necessarily obvious. you shouldn't just assume just things -- men don't think that way

indeed, men are generally much more thoughtless. but i just think it would be nice if he even considered me! sometimes i just dont get it. hes a lot busier than me, with work and classes, but sometimes really unthoughtful. even littler stuff like not saying thankyou for some sweets i just bought him, or not saying please when he wants something.
i realise sometimes i overreact, but i dont think this is necessarily overreacting?

I think the best thing to do is to voice these concerns to him, just say you feel a little underappreciated and it would be nice to be recognised and thought of every so often, and that you recognise he leads a busy life

Don't assume. He obviously didn't. Men don't generally need to spend every possible moment with their girlfriends.
