how do you make those animated pictures? can you convert video into them? if so, how?

I can make animate .gif's yes.. And i suppose you could convert video into them, but i'm not sure, you'd probably just use flash or something for that.

I have adobe photoshop, but I use Serif photoshop for my animated gifs, as it is just easier to use. To make it into a movie I would use flash, just copy each intervidual frame over into flash. If you do not have macromedia flash, you could always download and use the trial

if you turned a movie into a .gif, it'd be MASSIVE in comparison to a flash movie.

well i mean alot of animated pictured i see on myspace are real people, not animation, so how do i make one?

This is one I made. I first ripped a music video from a dvd into mpeg2 format. I then opened the file in Adobe Imageready and cut it down to a very very short part of the video and resized it. Save optimized and voila!
