i hate what he is trying to do with gay marriage
-- Posted by JohnQ at 5:05 am on July 11, 2005
This thread gives me a hard penis, and what is he doing to gay marriage?
-- Posted by Born2die at 5:11 am on July 11, 2005
Hate is a really stong word. I don't 'hate' him because I don't think you can hate someone you've never met before. I'm sure he's a very nice person in really life, but I don't 'like' what he's doing/done with America.

Yes... Yes I do... Very much so...
-- Posted by Daylight Dancer at 11:21 am on July 11, 2005
Don't like the way he's trying to outlaw gay marriage, and ultimately people will go to Canada and get married before coming back into the states, he cannot win on that one IMO. Also dislike him for his stance on the Kyoto Treaty and him and his administration not coming up with an alternative after his rejection of the Kyoto Treaty... Wouldn't go as far as to say I hate him but I do disagree with most of his policies. (Edited by Daylight Dancer at 7:32 pm on July 11, 2005)

Yeah, when I watched Farenheit 9/11 I thought it was good but it's always that bit what sticks with me.

Please don't get me started with that Fahrenheit 9/11 crap, that thing is nothing more than propaganda. Half the people in it didn't even give their permission to Moore to use their likenesses. Many people who were "interviewed" were really just clips from other programs that were taken severely out of context. Not to mention the way he claims to support our troops yet portrays them as blood-hungry pigs. I am not defending Bush here, it just makes you look stupid when lies are all you have to use against him. Anyway, on the Bush-bashing front, I found this funny:

Go back and watch the film again. Michael Moores only comment on the US troops was that the vast majority of them were from areas with huge levels of unemployment and were towns which were almost forgotten about and how basically the soldiers were all 'poor' kids. Hence why he approached congressmen who are obviously wealthy people and giving them the opportunity of sending their children to the war. It's the classic ideology found in two different songs over 30 years apart: Black Sabbath - War Pigs (1971 release) Politicians hide themselves away. They only started the war. Why should they go out into a fight....They leave that to the poor System Of A Down - BYOB (2005 release) Blast off it's party time. And where the fuck are you? where the fuck are you? where the fuck are you? why don't presidents fight the war? why do they always send the poor? Whether you like to admit it or not, Michael Moore is correct. (Edited by Daylight Dancer at 8:38 pm on July 11, 2005)

I don't like him much, but he's better than Kerry.

Conservatives may not like Moore's editorial practices, but nearly all the information presented in the film is factually true, included plenty of damning clips of Bush himself. Truth sometimes hurts.

Hahaha, I guess you don't know what propaganda is. He uses carefully selected "facts" and "evidence" to spin the heck out of the administration's policies. He is misleading and a detriment to informed decision-making.

And what makes you a better judge of propaganda than I am? Care to list your qualifications for this expertism?

I know what propaganda is and you don't? Just a guess, no need to get testy.

When people make claims they should have proof to back it up.

Moore makes the presentation that Powell gave the UN on WMD look like straight news.

This looks like propaganda itself IamNotBritish. Most of the stuff they harp about is trivial matters of no consequence at all- like "Like all the other networks, had won in Florida. The first network mistake was CBS, not Fox." Well so what? How about the big issues- like why Bush sent the country to war on false pretenses- that's what matters!
-- Posted by abspwnsyou at 2:07 pm on July 11, 2005
You mean like the wars in Yugoslavia or the Iraqi Liberation Act? Where was the media then? Where were all those stupid hippies and their protests then? Oh that is right, only when Bush comes up with bs is it right to spam all forms of media and block the streets.

ZenaGirl, remember the scene where Bush was at a very classy dinner event and he said, "Some people call you aristocrats, I call you my base" or something like that? Moore, with that scene was implying that Bush is in the pocket of rich people. It was actually a charity event where politicians, by tradition, make fun of themselves. You can't say Moore didn't spin that one. Entertaining? Sure. Documentary? No. The guy who lost limbs and was being interviewed at Walter Reed military hospital? Never gave permission to be used in the film, and disagrees with Moore. The border patrol agent or officer from some law enforcement agency who was saying that with recent budget cuts there is a lack of security? He never gave his permission either, and says it was taken out of context. I don't remember it all. If you want a balanced look at the issue, rent the movie FahrenHYPE 9/11. Now, OBVIOUSLY any movie or website we show you to dispute Moore's movie is going to be biased itself. But fahrenHYPE actually shows the exact scenes from Moore's film, then shows you the part he left out. It's hard to argue when the people that were IN Moore's film are saying that he's wrong, and you actually see the stuff he left out. But you probably don't care about seeing that stuff, since you can spot propaganda from a mile away yourself, right?

Penguincube, I don't doubt that Fahrenheit 911 contains inaccuracies, but Bush supporters are focusing on mostly trivial inaccuracies while ignoring the important damning things that are true.

When I was forced to watch that steaming load there wasn't anything on there that I didn't already know, except for how much of a cunt moore was.
