I convinced my dad to order an iMac a few days ago, much to the disappointment of Windows nerds everywhere.  It came this morning and we hooked it up a few hours ago, and OH MY GOD.

APPLE IS SO SEXY; I WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH EACH AND EVERY PROGRAMMER THAT CREATED OS X.

Seriously, yo.  The absolutely amazingly sexy 20" screen.  The fact that there is a little switcheroo cube of doom when you Fast User Switch.  The fact that every freaking thing in the computer is indexed for your viewing pleasure.  Expose.  Dashboard.

Oh, and the fact that I can say aloud, "Bastard, tell me a joke." and it does.

What the hell is everyone still doing on Windows?

HELLO, ASSHOLES, you can get the computer to TELL YOU JOKES.

SUPERMEGAH4XUPDATE:

"The Making of an Applehead." (my motha)

"I Love Being a Trendy Bastard."

I know. I use an iMac with OSX. Tell it to 'Open Safari' and it opens the net, or you can ask it the time, day, or date. Go into 'sounds' and you can pick the voice. You should download iClock 2.1 from Apple, and it will warn you with a custom sound on the hour, 1/2 hour, or 1/4 hour.

Have fun

You beat me to getting an iMac!!!1

Oh well, OSX still rules on my iBook, even though I can't make it tell me a joke.

PWNED.

And iBooks don't have the built in mics?

With some "hacking" OSX will install on ix86 systems as well. I've been thinking about trying to dual boot debian and osX on the old computer!

It does have the mic, but I don't have Tiger on it yet, so I can't do much with the mic.

Okay. So... Do you know what Command (the one with the Apple logo) does?

Well, I'm not totally lost (but I'm kinda lost).  I know that  cmd+q quits, cmd+x cuts, cmd+c copies, cmd+v saves, o opens, ? brings up help, , for preferences (I learned that one in iTunes) etc.  I figured out that Force Quitting involves command alt esc.  Nifty.

The only thing I'm really having trouble with is having to quit programs from menus instead of just lazily exiting their windows.
