-- Posted by Ric87 at 11:46 am on Sep. 8, 2005 I am using Bullguard anti-virus with the firewall disabled, my knowledgable brother told me my wireless router was better than any firewall.  My computer is general virus and spyware free apart from the occasional trojan which Bullguard usually picks up immediately.  But everytime i scan my computer i have a virus in Windows System restore, i follow the instructions and clear the old restore points but next time i scan it is without fail virused.  Is there not anything i can do to protect it? i like having system restore on in case of an emergency but these viruses cant be good. any suggestions, also i have microsoft anti-spyware, is it worth keeping? -- Posted by sara jane at 11:49 am on Sep. 8, 2005 id ask a computer technician they might be able to properly get rid of it for you -- Posted by vulcan at 11:54 am on Sep. 8, 2005 Try deactivating system restore and starting up in safe mode and do a full virus scan. -- Posted by pleaseremove at 11:54 am on Sep. 8, 2005 Ok, well, first things first, turn on your software firewall. I expect your brother is talking about Network address translation (or maybe SPI). Anyway, to the matter in hand.
