Does everyone think it is fine for guys and girls to live together, so is it just setting up a disastorous situation?
-- Posted by bass dude at 8:03 am on Dec. 9, 2005
i think its fine
-- Posted by feelinGroovy at 8:06 am on Dec. 9, 2005
it really depends, from what I get from most guys apartments is that they like to leave the washing up until its like a huge digusting smelly pile. among other dirtiness girls are cleaner.

I don't think it's okay.

I think its fine its only a disaster waiting to happen when they have feelings for eachother and deny those feelings. Otherwise if it is tuly platonic then its fine if you are turly friends nothing can destroy it

Yeah.

Like most everything in life, it depends on the people involved. Some people can live together with a person of the other gender with no drama; others cannot. It's not about "guys are ________" or "girls are ______." It's all about being honest with yourself and making sure the situation is right.

i think its fine, as long as the 2 know they are compatible

I agree with him. As long as they are mentally mature, physically, socially, and understand each other's idea of the living arrangements, I'm sure it is fine. My friend when he was 23 he lived with nothing but women. He was not gay or anything, but they got a long fine. (Him and 6 women). So, I see no big deal.

I think that they should do what ever is comfortable for them to do. Personally, i think its okay for them to live together.

i guess it is ok... why not i mean its practice for real life

It all depends on two things; -Are you talking about a whole dorm floor only have girl or guy residents? -Or are you talking about living together as in the same room? I think it wouldn't be that big of deal of living with the opposite sex, as in they're my neighbor not my roommate. In fact right now, I live next to several guys. We're like a huge family and we get along really great. Personally, I don't think I could live around all girls- too much for me.

Depends. If neither of the parties is interested in the other in that fashion and all respect each other, it should be fine. Don't room with a couple though, that's a bad idea.

It's a shame my school doesn't allow it. I guess it's more important to seperate straight couples then make the sizable gay population awkward about their roommate situation. I have come to realize when you get to the point where you can pick roommates, most gays end up rooming with other gays just becuase straights feel weird about rooming wiht somebody who likes people of their gender. Although imagine if a straight guy and girl room together. Even if it starts platonic, more can easily come out of it. That's exactly what happens to many gays that are forced to room together. I'm living off campus next year (or perhaps semester if I end up transfering) so that I can room with a guy. Yay, no distractions!

I think it's fine as long as both parties are willing to do it. Though i"m not sure what we're talking about here, living together as in Rooming together, or living together as in "we've been dating a while, you wanna move in?" As far as the rooming situation, it can be good, as long as both parties have a clear understanding of their responsibilities. It's really not that different from living with a same sex roomie. Just make sure you move in with someone you're compatible with. In the romantic stuff, well, that's a more complicated story. *shrug* Ultimately i think people should do what they feel is right. And even if it isnt, i believe life is a series of trials and errors to find what is right. So just keep trying.

My flat is a mixed flat and I like it that way. Next year I'm only going to be living with girls and that sucks! I like living with guys. I'm gonna have to hang out at my male friends' places more! Girls are so gossipy and bitchy.

Although very tempting I think it depends a lot on how your parents would react to it. You are going to say, "Who cares what they think" and this may be good enough due to poor relations with families. However I wouldn't want to do anything that her parents would perceive as being sleezy or change their impression of me. With a marriage in the future I think a couple should consider holding off living together until then.

I think its great.

In my apartment building (school-sponsored), guys and girls can live together only if they are either siblings or are married. Still, I think it would be cool if people could room with friends of the opposite gender. If that was possible, I'd move in with my guy friend in a heartbeat. I see nothing wrong with people of opposite genders living together, whether they are friends or more than that.

The only thing I would worry about is maturity of both the guy and girl. What Im referring to is bathroom noise. Most guys and girls dont want other people hearing it, but if the two are going to live together they have to be comfortable enough to let things slide. They both live there, so they both need to feel comfortable. Anyone agree?
-- Posted by saikojay at 6:40 pm on Mar. 30, 2006
really depends on who it is lol

I think if they don't get involved it would be good, because next comes arguments over stupid shizznit if you know what I mean.
