My roommate and I DO NOT get along. She will not initiate any conversation, and even when she does shes too quiet for me to hear. In the beginning of the semester i went out and found friends, but she has NO friends and so she follows me around even though she knows that i hate her. She turns the tv on while i'm studying because "the room is too quiet" and she NEVER leaves the room except for class and meals. The problem is i dont know how to bring all this up in a mediation... we dont even talk when we're in the room and its so awkward. I dont want to sound like a bitch but she gets on my every last nerve and i've tried moving out but my RA wouldn't let me because she was a moveout nazi... i dont understand why my roommate doesnt do anything about it either because we both hate eachother. so anyway, what could i say in a mediation that would get me OUT of the room p.s. if you dont have something NICE to say, dont say anythign at all. I'm tired of people thinking they can put someone down for having a roommate problem (Edited by Skiangel6137 at 2:23 am on Jan. 3, 2006)

Well, have you spoken to your RA about this? If anything he/she can help you figure out what to do about it, and how to take care of the situation.

She already said that her RA is a moveout nazi. I would go over the RA's head and go straight to res. services. Tell them your problems, exactly what you told us here, except maybe in a little more organized and professional matter. Avoid personal attacks on your roomie as best you can. good luck with that. my advice, next year, suck up the cost and get a single. It's sooooooooooooo worth it.

I must have overlooked that part. Just go straight to the Resident Director and explain your story to them.
