I think that denying yourself of things is a lot more stressful. Just don't get worked up over things, relax, be sensible and enjoy yourself. If you're not hurting anyone, then I don't see the problem with doing it. And the fact that these 2 denominations are singled out, while major religions such as Hinduism and Buddhism are missing. Well I've been travelling the continet (and overseas) for 20 years now, and I have to say, I don't miss the blade fights, getting shot at, robbed at gunpoint outside of bars, and seeing people beat with blunt objects by half a dozen guys while the majority of them are high and/or drunk. The family values here relieve any and all stress. Marriage/family/community/God is most important, not the temptation to justify drug use and alcoholism. Sorry I didn't clarify, so I'll revise. These were singled out because the poll only gave me 10 options, that's why. I could've filled it with 30 religious options from the Far East alone, I know, but it didn't give me that many options. Drinking, doing drugs and making love with people who aren't criminals and won't have bladefights or try to kill you is perfectly fine.
