mommyslittlegothdoll

My club goes from White, Green, Blue, Purple, Red, Brown, Black.

But for you to jump from Blue to Black?  That's interesting.

Tae Kwon Do with different styles.  I like that.

-- Posted by SilverClover at 4:26 pm on May 26, 2006

Tae kwon do is the pointless martial art accroding to all my serious martial arts friends. It looks cool but since it focuses on kicking, it's high risk.

Next year I'm taking tai chi and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Eventually I want to learn akido or hapkido too,

That's their opinion.  You should give it a shot yourself instead.  There's more to TKD than high kicks IF you study TKD.

And what do you mean by "high risk"?

I took tae kwon do in elementary school..

I was green belt.. my sister was purple or orange belt...
but I was like 7-8 belt away from black belt!

My school doesn't have a TKD club, but we do have a Kung Fu Demo team. I hold a 6th Green Sash in Kung Fu. Our system goes 10th white; 9th, 8th, 7th, Yellow; 6th, 5th, 4th Green; 3rd, 2nd, 1st Brown; 1st, etc... Black.

Although my school doesnt have a TKD club, one teacher has a TKD club at our local church. I've been cross training in TKD for the last year. i hold a yellow just because i've never tested and don't really care too.

I am also part of a group of guys that gets together to do some boxing, and I've been cross training in boxing for the past year.

And, this summer I started taking Graice Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu. I take 5 classes a week. I just got my first stripe on my white belt. And to the guy who wants to do BJJ, do it, it is awsome.

Also train a little with some wrestlign friends here and there although I suck at wrestling.

Check out my martial arts demo team's website.

Kicking's not 'high risk' if you know how to do it right.
