So I'm a poor college student, I have been thinking of putting together a little cook book. Pick out your favorite recipe and type it up make sure that the sum of all the required ingredients cost less the ten dollars and submit it as a post in this topic. Things like sugar, flower, milk and butter do not have to be accounted for but things like special spices should be included as a cost.
All entry's must include the above to be considered.
All entry's will appear on my web site with credit given to the author (if your would like your real name listed please contact me via PM) unless you specifically ask me not to post it.
Please make separate post for multiple recipes.
300pts for the winner, 100pts for the runner up (both chosen by me).
Because of the inactivity of this forum I thought I might leave this contest open for a while so it will end on the 9th of June (my birthday:>).
Put peanut butter on one slice...jam on the other...put em together, eat!
Ooooh, what fun contest. Can it be something I got from an actual recipe and then added my own stuff to it?
Wonderful idea...
Okay, these are like the most awesome things ever. Feel the power of the Jew food!
icing sugar [powdered] Beat the egg white to a stiff froth; add caster sugar, cinnamon and ground almonds and mix thoroughly. Roll into small balls and bake on a greased tin in a slow oven (350 F, Regulo No. 3) for 18 minutes.

I don't eat meat anymore... but when I did I absolutely adored this dish.
Salsa Chicken:
1 bottle of Salsa (any type). $2.00
1/3 cup brown sugar.
2 chicken breasts $3.00
2 fresh tomatos $1.50
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Chop the tomatos into 8 pieces per tomato. Mix the salsa, brown sugar, and tomatos in a bowl. Put the defrosted chicken in a deep pan, then cover them with the salsa mix. Put in the oven until the salsa mix turns brown and boils. (Approximately 20-30 minutes).
Take out, enjoy!

Kool-aid sandwhiches.
My boyfriend's mom showed me this... I didn't eat any because of the gelatin but she LOVES them. It's kind of like a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich... only cheaper, and funner.
Ingredients:
1 packet of kool-aid mix (any flavor) >$1.00
Peanut butter
1 slice of bread.
Slice the bread in half.
On one half of the bread spread a layer of peanut butter. Then open the package of kool-aid mix and sprinkle a thin layer on the peanut butter. Put the other half of the bread on top.
Cost: less than $1.00

PECAN PRALINES WOO!
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup evaporated milk
2 cups pecan pieces and halves
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 tablespoons chilled butter, cut in pieces
PREPARATION:
Combine sugar, milk, and water in a 2-quart saucepan; heat to boiling stirring constantly. Cook until mixture reaches soft ball consistency (235°).Remove from heat; stir in pecans, vanilla, and butter. Immediately drop by tablespoons onto wax paper.
I know I said I'd get exact prices but I don't know when I'll have the conveniency to do so. I just wanted to make this contest look more active because I think it's a great idea.
Estimated price (i'm not good at estimating, but I'm estimating at the most) - $10, most probably less. But these things are GOOD man, it's worth it.
