What's going on? 1. Open it up. 2. Go to "Personal Firewall". 3. Go to "Programs" along the top. 4. Scroll down through the program list to find the name of the P2P app you want. 5. Set "Internet Access" to "Permit All". If you've Norton Internet Security 2005, then you could also try changing these settings: 1. Open it up. 2. Go to "Options" and click "Norton Internet Security". 3. Go to "Firewall" and uncheck "Program Component Monitoring" and "Program Launch Monitoring". Obviously, this will reduce your security level slightly, but so long as you're not doing anything dodgy it should not affect you. As for the comments about Norton being shit - if you know how to use it and how to properly set it up, norton is excellent and would generally be regarded as one of the best and thorough anti virus' and firewalls out there. If you're not going to take them time to configure it well then what do you expect. Last time I checked AVG and Avast were anti-virus programs. So recommending him anti-virus programs does not help him one bit with a firewall problem.   Oh and to the original poster what The PK should work. It at least has always worked for me. But if nothing goes back correctly I would suggest Symantac's customer service line. They tend to cause you more problems than most viruses will. Apparently the moderators get mad if I suggest you use no anti-virus at all (even though I don't and have never had a virus, have used the net for years, because I'm careful), but at least find something better than Norton or McAffee. -- Posted by libertine at 10:15 am on July 31, 2006 Normally the popup window will have several options under the drop-down window, one of them being "always allow" or the like.
