For those of you who have lived or are living in a public bathroom in a dorm, what can you tell me about them?  Let's just say . . . for the most part, are they liveable or are they usually problematic?

On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best (3 in the middle), rank it.

What do you like most/hate the most?  Cleanliness, space, privacy, etc. - which area is the worst to deal with (toilets, showers, sinks, mirrors)?

The toilets are nice and always so clean we run out of tiolet paper sometimes, but thenn you just go take a roll from another toilet. All the toilets are little mini rooms so its so private becuase they aren'st stalls.

The sinks are clean and good, some ants but those you just wash aawy and its becuase people leave things wich ants like there.

The showers are also brightly lit and clean and so private

These are the best dorms I have ever been in

i stayed in a dorm this weekend and i hate the bathrooms. they could give u a little privasy

We have stalls so little privacy I suppose. It's ok until someone makes a mess and leaves it for the cleaning crew. Plus my school doesn't have anyone to clean up the trash on the weekends and it makes the bathrooms smell pretty bad.

i live in an attic and we have to hunch over everytime we move. the shower head is four feet above the floor and i'm five 6 and a half so i have to bend over while taking a shower. the toilet takes two flushes to flush. i live with three blond party girls. they're always in the bathroom.

Mine were... touchy. Out of the 4 shower stalls on my floor, two were good for the most part (one had amazing water pressure, the other had okay), and the other two blew. As often as we complained to the custodial service, and as often as they came up and "fixed" them, there were always only two showerheads that did more than drip tepid water when turned on high. Near middle of my second semester, the best one switched, and one of the sucky ones became the good one. Water pressure didn't matter, however, when we got back from winter break and there WASN'T ANY HOT WATER. AT ALL. For two days! We had 4 toilet stalls, as well, and since the bathroom was co-ed, we set aside one for "standing only" and the other three were for "sitting only". The residential cleaning ladies came by every day to do some basic wipe-downs and keep us in paper, with a thorough cleaning done once a week. It wasn't too bad, and, compared to the other floors, we were a pretty clean bunch. Awkward, of course, when you just want to some you-time in a stall and a member of the opposite sex walks in. Not too bad, but I'm not living in a dorm again unless they pay me to.

Thanks for sharing.  That's very interesting that you used a co-ed bathroom.  Was that different with a guy peeing next to you in the stall? lol

What did you do about feminine hygeine?  Seriously...do you bring your purse with you or just carry a pad in your hand while you walk to the bathroom?  And, are the bathrooms close to your dorm room?

2 - - they are usually pretty bad.  They are cleaned daily, but they need much more attention than that.  Toilets are often clogged and disgusting.  Over the weekend things can become awful.

Also, can you name the school you go to.
If it's that bad . . I was wondering if it's a state school or liberal arts, small or big, etc.
