Many of you have questions about your moderator applications. This topic is designed to answer those questions, so as to prevent a large amount of repetitive topics continue. How do I apply to become a moderator? There are three requirements necessary to apply to become a LiveWire moderator. You must: - Become a peer or tech support leader
- Attain the rank of Executive (3000 points)
- Maintain a generally clean record of conduct.
Note: You do not need to donate to apply to become a moderator. When will I find out when if I will become a moderator? You will find out if/when you are promoted. There is no set time limit for this. Moderators are promoted based upon a need for moderators at certain times and in certain places on our peer support site. Will I be notified if my application is rejected? There will not be any notification if your application is rejected or you are not chosen to be a moderator. Most applications are kept on file for the future. Did you forget about my application? No. All applications are stored on file unless manually removed by the administrator or yourself. Every application will be reviewed fairly. Can I submit a second moderator application? If you fail the objective portion, you may retake the test every 10 days, with your requirement for passing getting harder for each subsequent time. You can not resubmit another application if you have passed, however you can delete your entire application and start the process all over again. (Written section and mod test) Do this by going to the moderator application page, located here.

Sounds just about right, but wasn't all of this information, or most of it already written down in some FAQ's? Maybe not, but for more information view. Can I apply to become a moderator? When will my moderator application be reviewed? (Edited by CyberPunk at 10:08 pm on July 28, 2006)

Though most of the information covered here is covered in the FAQ, many questions continue to come up in this forum.

Another thing worth bearing in mind is that most applications are unsuccessful - the post of moderator is so oversubscribed that even ex-moderators who wish to return have to submit an app and wait around for a while. It isn't healthy to expect to become a moderator as most people simply don't because there isn't the need for 60 moderators. I felt that this was important to add as often people gnaw their fingers off over applications and set too much store, nerves, and anxiety in them. Consider promotion a pleasant and unexpected bonus and you'll feel a lot better for the whole process, honest!

How can you fail the written portion .. ?
-- Posted by insertnamehere at 10:28 am on Sep. 22, 2006
You don't "fail" or "pass" the written portion. Once you've wrote it, your application is left for review.

I was just wondering if mods could help us with them? I guess I am trying to say, if a mod could tell someone thier personal opinion about thier application and if it's good or not? I'm just curious...

I'm not sure. It would be nice to know that.

As long as they're not revealing any "secret" information about the application process, or what other mods have posted on your app, I don't see how it could possibly be wrong to have somebody help you.

It takes a while I see, 3000 pts is a Little over the top though.
-- Posted by nigeltheoutlaw at 10:40 pm on Mar. 19, 2008
You have to post 3,000 times? That's a lot.

No, you don't have to post 3000 times; you just have to get 3000 points. Posting is not the only way to get points.

Does anyone know 'why' you have to become a Support Leader before you can be a Moderator?
-- Posted by BBallAsh23 at 9:57 am on Aug. 15, 2008
It shows responsibility and leadership in a member.
