IMO, I LOVE IT. It's soo stream lined and easy to use. I love Apple's idea of Widgets and the Blinds (or w/e U wana call it). I mean it's the best, u press one key and u have all of your stuff pop up on the screen. Also I love how u can get custom widgets that interact with online web services (such as this one), u can get things like sports, weather, market. I think eBay even has one, or they should. eh, w/e. im not gona blab on about it.

I find it interesting- yet I am still not too big a fan of macs, especially after all those annoying "Mac VS. PC" commercials.

Sleek themes it may well have, but thats not what helps me use my computer. I think the minimalist interface of the Mac has been taken too far by removing features i want to get at all in the name of style. For an OS that touts its usability this is a contradiction. There are also many buttons that contain images which are no help to man nor beast. I have to click on them to work out what they do due to the lack of tool-tip. Some parts of exposé are nice, but its hardly a justifies an OS. Windows + D does enough for me. I think as an OS it is overrated and it will never take a particularly large market.

Your point was directed at my laptop itself. And I'll have you know that this week, it's in perfect working order. Windows OS = <333333

2. In comparison to most *nix WM's, OS X relatively uncustomizable. Not to mention antyhing next to XGL looks pretty shabby. Not to comment on functioality because this is, afterall, just about looks. (Edited by mephisto mortis at 9:49 pm on Aug. 1, 2006)

Lol, u should see how much Microsoft is pushing looks into Vista. Minimum video req. 32mb Direct X 9.x compatible graphics card, recemended 128mb!!! . In fact, Mac OS X was voted most usable ( http://www.computerworld.com/html/collateral/msvistatour/02introchart.html ) vs all windows, and other OS's in HISTORY!. I would sya Mac OS X is the best OS out there for standard user needs. For gaming, Windows PWNS!

Yes, real credible poll. In fact, combining all linux distros, BSD's, and Unix into one category only augments the fact that the poll is accurate, especially when multiple versions of the Mac Os and Windows are included. And lets not forget that Vista isn't even out yet.

"What would u rate the "looks" of the Mac OS X desktop?" THe looks are Okay, but i hate macs in general. (well, until I can afford Daul G5 processors)

Its kind of pretty, but als kind of fustrating to use, what with the menu bar being at the top of the screen, and suchlike. Its just a bit too different for my tastes, although given enough exposure to it, I would get used to it.

Mac's GUI are far more better than windows' you don't need to be a genius to tell that.. hehehe swear!

Bad because it's has so many stolen ideas. Macs are NOT the first system to use widgets and blinds and etc. God I'm sick of mac cultists.
