If a diet pill makes one of the following claims, it is most likely to be false, and you should be weary of that product.  There are many diet scams out there, and it is important to be an informed consumer.

1. The product will cause weight loss of two pounds per week or more without dieting or exercise.

2. The product will cause substantial wight loss no matter what or how much the consumer eats.

3. The product will cause permanent weight loss, even after the consumer stops using the product.

4. The product will block the absorption of fat or calories to enable consumers to lose substantial weight.

5. The product safely enables the consumer to lose more than three pounds per week for more than four weeks.

6. The product cuases substantial weight loss for all users.

7. The product will cause substantial weight loss by wearing it on the body or rubbing it into the skin.

Yohimburn is a topical fat burner (rubbed on skin) and I've seen many positive testimonials on body building forums and the like. However, I think it only works on certain types of fatty areas which contain fat that is binded to estrogen receptors, making it harder to burn. I also recall exercise being strongly recommended.

Nothing will work without exercise and a balanced diet, agreed. However, there are some suppliments that can help a person along the way.

Most of these fad fat burners you see are crap, even the one's that you get with a doctor prescription.  The one's that do "work" are almost useless.  They will help to an extent of about five percent, this means that if you lose 20 lbs this "miracle" burners will hep you lose 21 lbs, yippie.

But these are very expensive, so all and all a sound proper BALANCED meal plan is the way to go and regular aerobic and weight training acttivities.

while I am on this subject, I have been reading up on dr. phils weigt loss programs and find them to be very good.  They are very similar to body for life programs.  He also is very inteligent and is 100% against the atkins diet and any form of dieting.
So not there are 2 actual straight forward SAFE methods of weight loss.

I don't understand how somebody can take weight loss advice from an overweight man.

he is not over weight, although I did refer to him before as dr. fatass just for jokes though

he is quite athletic though, and just big boned not fat. He and bill phillips are very similar in personality types, the only difference is that Bill has such a better muscles.

I am currently keeping up with his 10 week challenge which is currently underway. I am gonna moniter the progress of his challengers.

Big boned? lol.  He is fat, man.  He has a gut and that comes from only fat.

yeah maybe for u, you are not a desperate teen under pressure by everyone to lose weight and be fit,

gain 50 lbs and see how "commons sense" it really is

-- Posted by penguincube at 5:35 pm on Dec. 30, 2003

Yes, yes.  Exactly, muscleman.  I agree that it is common sense, but that is something many people lack when they are desprate for weight loss.  They want to lose wight so bad, they will believe any advertisement out of desparation.  If these scams didn't make money, I don't think they would be around in as much abundance as they are, and I wouldn't need to post this.

I already knew they're false..It's a fake way to lose weight. They just block nutrients from coming into your system along with H2O. That's what happens when you take them, most of the time, with most of the weight-loss pills/whatever. I never took them..even though I guess I'm kinda realizing I'm not fat enough to take them anyway      :D

Lose up to 5 pounds in 1 week!

-- Posted by dredgtone at 8:57 pm on May 9, 2004

Diet pills are only good if you want a quick boose of energy and caffeine.  I don't suggest buying diet pills anymore because they took the ephedra out of the, and ephedra felt good =p
