Hey, I'm about to start my freshmen year in a few weeks and I just got my roomates name and phone number in the mail. I plan on calling him, but I'm not sure what questions i should ask concering items he is bringing and also what questions to ask about setting rules and habitts.

well i think that you should just like flat out ask what all hes bringing and stuff just to make conversation .. and dont ask about setting rules and habits and stuff.. that might make him think that ur just all bossy or something. just wait 2 do that wen u actually meet him in person and you're actually living in the place.. when my brother started his freshmen year, and he called his roomate, they just talked about their hobbies and their familes and random stuff. yeahh i think you should do that. : )

i agree with xiloveyoux, don't bring up rules or anything. there will be a time for that once you two are settled in. when you call him, just try to get to know him a little bit. be friendly. then just casually bring up items he might be bringing or you were thinking of bringing. maybe a tv, refrigerator, microwave, anything that you won't need 2 of.

You should probably focus more on what each of you are bringing to college. You can set the rules up once you two move in.

Just talk to him, dont get too in to it, just shoot the shit with em, and yah for sure bringing stuff, and ideas and stuff like that, ask em what theyve been up to, what they did in high school, stuff like that, itll ease their head and yours
