The Positions have been Filled. Hello Fellow LiveWire Members! As you may or may not know, I am the advertising manager, and I would like to announce that we have 4 new positions opening. Each of these positions will be Advertising Manager’s Assistants. The Advertising Manager’s Assistant’s duties will be to help the Advertising Manager with his or her duties. The manager and the assistants will work as a team to work to bring new members to LiveWire and help fulfill the Advertising Manager’s other duties. Applicants for this position must be motivated and plan on staying on LiveWire for some time to come. The applicants should also be dedicated to LiveWire. If you are planning on closing your account, please do not apply. For their work as assistants, the Advertising Manager’s Assistants will be compensated with LiveWire points. A qualified applicant is: responsible, a frequent (daily) user of LiveWire and the internet, trustworthy, dedicated to what they do, works well in a team and is willing to follow instructions from a group leader. Responsibilities of the advertising manager's assitant would include (but not limited to): giving out reward points to LiveWire members for participating in parts of LiveWire's new advertising initiative, helping find potential parner sites and contacting them, coming up with advertising ideas and (like it has been noted before) helping the advertising manager with the current project. Please send in your application in the form of a Private Message to derailedjet, explaining why you think you’re qualified for the job.

what's the deal like?

What are some of the qualifications?

Well I would do it myself, seeing as I am around a lot, but I would feel bad advertising on other sites (mainly forums), while they are not allowed to advertise here, apart from this sticky in the tech forum (I did it once, but the sticky is not noticed by many). If you need some connections, I might be able to help you get a lot of sites. They would be mainly forums, and they would normally be ones with a sub-forum deisgned for advertising other sites. I have already done this once before, you just don't know it. I don't need to be rewarded for doing it. But I congratulate those who do fill the position, and encourage those who do apply.

See at the top? LiveWire Network >> XX Users online >> 78,000+ >> XXXX Active Today >> Happy is the mood ? An IPB forum that I help run was advertised under there once. You can advertise on LW. You can see the ads there if you choose to view ads in My account.

I would apply, but with school, work, and normal eHelp, I couldn't find the time.

Yeah I know, but they have to pay to do that. I know LiveWire is willing to pay a little bit of money for some advertising, but I was talking about the free stuff.

I think the main point of the job is to do things like find Affiliates, etc. Such as like, get Go Ask Alice (random example, but you advertising people may want to try this) to link to LiveWire as a Peer Forum Affiliate or something.

We're drowning in staff. Derailedjet; I think that it would be much appreciated by all if you explained the position more than "Helps the Advertising Manager with his duties" because that's stated by the title. People like to know what they're getting into - it's mutually beneficial.

Agreed. I would apply for it, but I don't really know what it consists of.

I wasn't aware that the advertising manager's job was so huge that 5 people will need to carry out advertising. Is there any awful lot more to do now than there was before you were made manager a few weeks back, when advertising was one of David's countless duties and the moderation team approved an ad here and there? I'd be very interested to hear of any developments on the advertisement front. Yes, you do need to be more specific.

Hmm. It does sound interesting. I'm already the Contest Manager though. If there's something I can do to help, just say. Also, the title of this announcement made me giggle.

Well, i think we have about 100 advertisers if that helps.

Ok, I have edited to the post to include some of the duties for this position. (Thanks for pointing that out!) And yes, the advertising front has grown. I am making efforts to increase how much LiveWire advertises itself significantly. There is a need for the assistants due to the vast nature of the task: for example, there are many, many potential partner sites to collaborate with and the sooner we contact as many as we can, the better it will be for LiveWire. At this time, I am unable to disclose further details about the new advertising initiative. The details of this new project will debut on LiveWire in the very near future and is being kept under wraps for the time being due to the fact that the plan is not quite 100% complete. Thanks for you understanding and interest in this position. I am looking forward to seeing your applications. Thanks very much, DerailedJet

It may be worth asking for members who are high up on other sites to make themselves known if you are trying to get some affiliations goin'... Just a thought.

i would apply but i got other things that preoccupy my time plus itll involve a lot of effort and at this time in my life i just cant be bothered and it means i have to work in a team, cept i dont like working as a team, i like to do things my way and get them done, which doesnt always mean using the more known methods of doing something so reall i guess im not qualified at all to do it heh

I want to help out really bad, but everytime I apply I feel like I already know the answer, which is rejection. I'm really glad that LW is becoming more and more by peers for peers, which is awesome. What are my chances? I want to know before I pour my heart out into applying. I feel like my age will get in the way and how long I've been here as well.

I completely know your pain. Don't let it get you down. If you're interested, apply. Don't let the fear of rejection keep you from doing something you truly want to do.
