Ghosts I don't believe in. The idea of "souls" just doesn't appeal to me, much less the idea of these "souls" just wandering the Earth. Once a person is dead, they're dead. Ghosts are just something cooked up by horror stories. Aliens I do believe in, to an extent. I'm not sure I believe all the reports of people who claim to have been abducted, but I think some other form of intelligent life must exist somewhere. Yes there are such things as ghost. But what most people mean by the term 'ghost' is something they 'saw' that they couldnt explain in one form or another. Its basically a unexplanitory object or experience we cant put into normal terms of daily life. What I do not believe in, are pictures and videos of ghost sightings, and popular ghost "tours." I've sen countless pictures cluttered with dust, and believers call them "orbs of ghostly energy." Videos are the same and are very easily faked. Popular haunted places such as the Queen Mary, somehow I believe the fact many people come there just for the ghosts, they can use any kind of flash in the corner of their eyes as proof of what they saw. Plus their minds can produce images because thats what they want to see. Though I have some stories that I simply can't explain. I don't want to tell them but...I'll just say, they definetly made me believe theres more to the world than meets the eye. -- Posted by fernhs at 10:55 am on Sep. 17, 2006 I think that there's something there...I'm an athiest, and I don't believe in life after death, but I believe you're never truly gone. I think that bringing flowers to graves and things does matter, because it's for the memory of the deceased, even if they're not watching. They'd care if they knew. People are always there - even when you die, your body rots or your ashes are blown away and they become part of tomorrow's world. There was a test done, where they floated a large log in the lake, and tried to psyche people out. And the mind is a complex, wonderful yet scary thing. It can make us think in certain ways or see certain things which might not appear to others. Maybe they dont exist but i think they do -- Posted by Newfie at 6:06 pm on Sep. 24, 2006 I said no for this.  But in a way I do believe ghosts exist, the same as I believe in heaven, hell & faith, etc. But I also believe that we evolved from other forms of life, right down to the single cell creatures billions of years ago, and that your here, you die so enjoy it! Humans are made up of energy. When we die that energy has to go somewhere. Where does it go? If it disappates out into the atmosphere, who are we to say that it doesn't stay clumped together as a "ghost"? So much more study  needs to happen on this before I will make up my mind. Then again, the town I grew up in has a ghost ship that I once pointed out to my mother (I was about 4). I haven't seen it since, and I hadn't known about it before then. By that reasoning, we'd know if there was aliens, god, and tons of other things. New discoveries are made everyday. Do I believe in ghost personally. Yea. Why? Because I believe that the amount of energy we have inside us cannot dissipate immediately. Perhaps we cannot go to rest until we complete something.
