This could be quickly answered, but do we accept any sort of emergency technology eHelp request?

It says peer support and such, but is this more about support emotionally, sexually and such, but excludes technology things? As far as I am aware, we have a teen, college, and tech forum, so any eHelp for the site feels like it may fall under any of those categories.

If it is still there, and not going to be deleted yet, there is already one up there, and although not a real emergency, still proves a point. If it was about technology, and was an emergency, then do we keep it and answer it? I am still aware that tech support leaders might not be able to access this system though, unless they were a peer SL.

I tend to think that tech support help stuff is better suited to a more chat/instant messenger type of environment, maybe something like this can eventually be implemented, but for now, tech related eHelp requests may as well remain there.

I would be fairly confident in the assertion that Tech problems should be removed from eHelp.  TSLs do not have access to eHelp for a reason (which is that that is not what eHelp is for)

There are some people who are both tech and eHelp support leaders.

A nice, subtle way to brag, Thomas. :)

This is tough.  I would say they person is much better off messaging a TSL.  There aren't enough SLs that are both, therefore unless TSLs were given access to ehelp I don't see how they'll get the quality of responses that they're looking for.

It might be a nice idea to have a drop down menu similar to the one for reporting posts.  So that if it's a tech ehelp, we can choose that option and the person will get a message saying it was removed and they should message a tech SL to get help with their problem, or post in the tech area of the forums.  I don't see too many of these ehelps though.

Mmmm, rambling.

I have and will continue to delete any tech eHelps I come across.

I agree with Tangy on this one, Tech support questions would be better suited in a chat kind of way, and a topic would be better than making an ehelp.

I would say answer it if you know that you can answer it, but I think that it would be removed. It is better in the Tech Forums than in ehelp.
