four things that could be wrong

1.speaker not conected probaly
2.cable has broken
3.the pc conection has broken
4.not loud enough

to test pc conection oput earphones in to test cables on speakers put them in somthing else.

true it should be in the green one. unless it has been all muddeld up by the maker. Simply try each one till you get it rhiht and if there is one in the front i sudjest you try that one

The beep soound is probably coming from your built-in PC speaker.

Right click on "My computer" go to properties, Hardware, Device manager, sound and audio devices, and see if your card is showing up on the list.

You need to get your sound cards CD, or if your sound card is built-on to your mainboard, the mainboard CD.

Turn off your computer
Reconnect the sound card(if you have one that is replaceable.)
Reconnect the wires for the speakers
turn the speakers on
Turn computer on then voila
