1GB is 1024 Mb, and I think 1Mb is 1000K.

P.S. 512Mb for $70 is a bad deal. Check out Office Max. I bought three 256's for a buck each.

You're talking about RAM, and here's the size breakdown:

1 bit is just a 1 or a 0.
8 bits make 1 byte.
1024 bytes makes 1 kilobyte (KB)
1024 kilobytes makes 1 megabyte (MB)
1024 megabytes makes 1 gigabyte (GB)
1024 gigabytes makes 1 terabyte (TB)

You get the idea.
Anyways, if you're looking to buy more RAM, you'll want the same speed and type as whatever you already have.
Why do you want more RAM anyways?

I highly doubt that, maybe on ebay, but not at an Office Max. If you really did, then they're almost definitely shitty quality.
Poor quality RAM is worse than not enough.

A memory stick isn't RAM. She is talking about a flash drive.

And no, any old flashdrive will do.

OH and those flash drives were not the best quality, but good for the purposes I needed.

this is what it say in Local Disk (C:) Properties
Used-15.5 GB
Free Spaces- 3.48 GB
Capacity 18.9 GB

how do i approve this so i can put stuff is it the hard drive or memory stick i need?

-- Posted by Halo Punk Returns at 1:51 pm on Oct. 21, 2006

You need a new hard drive. I would recomed Seagate. I bought a 250GB harddrive at Wal-Mart for $100.

By the way, what will this computer be used for?

-- Posted by BrownEyes at 1:56 pm on Oct. 21, 2006

so that will hold the sims 2, UNI and NL?

-- Posted by Halo Punk Returns at 1:59 pm on Oct. 21, 2006

If that is all you are using it for then I wouldn't go over 100GB, but If you are going to do some Video Editing or using photoshop a lot then I would go around 150-250.

Wait...UNI NL?

In that case you defnitely want another harddrive, NOT a memory stick / flashdrive.

Due to me being a twat and not reading the post properly my edited response.

IDE even SATA Storage is very cheap at the moment. What concerns me is that if you only have GB in the PC at the moment and that was as new how do you know the PC is up to running the SIMS? It seems to me that the PC must be a fair few years old now. Check you have enough RAM & CPU power also.

Lets just sum this up are you after USB storage i.e Memory Stick or are you after some more RAM for your pc/laptop?

After reading the posts, especially the last few by the OP, I'm pretty sure it's HD space, not a flashdrive, and not RAM.
