i was around three months pregnant and thought everything was goin fine...my mom n dad were happy for us...me and my bf were exited n gettin along great...but then on the morning i was going for my first scan i had some bleeding and when i went for the scan they said it looked very abnormal, there was no heartbeat, the scan didnt look as it should and there was signs of bleeding and that i would most likely get some heavy bleeding and be experiencing a miscarriage...then they took some blood that day and i had to go back yesterday so they could take some more...we phoned later for the results and it is a miscarriage...we are all gutted....am i being punished or what?!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Maybe, your body just isn't ready yet. Maybe your not meant to have a baby yet.

im 18...they said that my next pregnancy will have a 95% chance of bein fine...i had an abortion about 2 years ago...could this have affected it?

-- Posted by Thuggen at 3:24 am on Nov. 6, 2006

I was born twins, but I was the only one that survived. My mom had a miscarriage before that too. It is sooo sad. I cry when I think that I could have had a special friend. (My twin)

No, i highly doubt the abortion would have affected this.

Its nobodys fault nor punishment. Its just natures way of deling with a possible birth defect and way of saying not this time........ I'm so sorry for your loss though.

Many studies have shown that women who get abortions have problems with their pregnancies following the abortion. It's more than likely that the abortion is affecting your pregnancy now, which is not to say that it will affect all of your future pregnancies, but it is most likely affecting this one.
I am really sorry for you.
I will pray for you.

No, you're not being punished.  These things just happen.  Often, miscarriages occur when there is something wrong in the womb.  It wasn't your fault, believe me.

i'm so sorry to hear that. my sister has had a couple of miscarriages and it isn't easy.
possibly the abortion could have affected this pregnancy, but if doc says the next one will likely be fine, then i doubt that was what was wrong.
odds are your body just wasn't prepared for the stress of carrying a child.
i know it hurts... i'll be praying for you.

actually, theres a big chance of miscarriage if you've had an abortion in the past.

it depends on how brutal the abortion was on your uterus. that could be a reason if it was done roughly or maybe there is something else wrong with your body, the body is made to protect the baby. if there was a problem in the making, then it's not your fault or your boy's fault or anyone's fault. Many things happen for reasons we don't understand and this is just one of those things. but punishment is not what this is. maybe it's a blessing that you aren't having a kid. i mean, maybe it could be good for you. what would happen if you had a deformed baby? you would be even more sad then, right? Just know that this isn't the end of your life and tomorrow will come.

Life throws us some curveballs every now and then. As hard as it may seem time will pass and things will get easier give yourself a few years and try again. Give your body time to heal and recoop. Use this time for you, love yourself, live for yourself do things that will make you happy. Go to a spa get a facial and/or a massage. Through the hard times we learn to apreciate the good times and look forward to those. If you need anything write me, I will be there for you.

Nobody knows for sure why miscarriages happen hun. I know that every part of your being wants an answer as to why, but there isn't one in this case. If you continue to search for one, you'll start making up reasons -- like your abortion -- and punishing yourself for it. It was NOT your fault. Thousands of women who have never had abortions unfortunately still suffer miscarriages. And women who have had 2, 3, 4 abortions or more have perfectly fine pregnancies and healthy babies.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Im so sorry for your loss. Everything does happen for a reason. The pain may be intense right now, but perhaps in the future you will look back and be thankful that you were able to fulfill your dreams. Sometimes it is too hard to pursue your goals when you have a child. You have plenty of time to have another child, not one to replace the one you lost, but rather another one to treasure as your own.
