First of all, there's the whole "anonymity" of the Internet. A ton of people on here don't refer friends for that specific reason; members talk about their friends in real life on this site, and if they referred them, the whole anonymity thing would be blown. Plus, it's just a huge hassle to wait and wait and wait for people to verify their email address. However, I thinkt hat as this is a support forum, many people will not want people from their 'real life' to be able to come here and read posts that they've made.
