I've been on LW for about 3 years now and have seen many pregnancy topics made. There isn't a large FAQ on this and I would like to help out some of the ladies of LW. Hope this little FAQ helps Before you read the symptoms of pregnancy, you should write down what you are feeling first to get a more accurate picture. Remember also that all of the symptoms can be caused by other factors, so please don't jump to conclusions and stress yourself out! Missed menstrual period. Other causes: Stress, illness, malnutrition, excessive weight gain/loss, fatigue, hormonal problems & tension. Swollen/Tender Breasts. Other causes: Hormonal imbalance, birth control pills, impending menstruation (PMS) can also cause your breasts to be swollen or tender. PMS is a big part in this, so if you are close to having your period and think you are pregnant but don't know for sure, don't use this as an accurate measure! Fatigue/Tiredness. Other causes: Stress, exhaustion & depression. Nausea/Morning Sickness. Other causes: Food poisoning, stress, or other stomach disorders can also cause you to feel queasy. "This well-known pregnancy symptom will often show up between 2-8 weeks after conception. Some women are fortunate to not deal with morning sickness at all, while others will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy." Headaches. Other causes: Dehydration, PMS, caffeine withdrawal, impending menstruation, eye strain, or other ailments can be the source of frequent or chronic headaches. Darkening of Areolas. Other causes: none Source. *Pregnancy Myths!* All about abortion & adoption. When you are most likely to get pregnant! The egg is produced about 14 days BEFORE the next period starts - so there's always a bit of guess work involved. So around two weeks before you start your period. Your uterine lining is also at its thickest to support an implantation. If you are going to have sex but want the lowest risk of pregnancy, do it right after you've finished with your period and always use protection.

Though it's not useful to me, that's great for the people that need it.

IT IS NOT 14 DAYS AFTER YOUR PERIOD.... ARGH.. I hate this one. You ovulate on day 14 of your cycle.. which begins on the day you START your period... so you ovulate 7 days after your period ends... sigh..

Hm...that is what the American Pregnancy people said and every other website I check out AND my health book.

I can get out my reproductive Bio book if you'd like and quote it..... day 14 of your cycle is your fertile time.... My doctor has drilled it in my head And.. if people didn't ovulate until then.. then I woudln't have gotten pregnant.. I got pregnant on day 7 after my period.... and only had sex once. Your first post is right... 14 days from the end of your cycle.. which is day 7 of your non period cycle... but the other person corrected you and was incorrect.

According to this pretty little picture, it is 14 days after your first day of bleeding.
