God sake. My stupid MsPaint won't let me save any files as a .png

Is there a reason?

what happens when you try to save them?

Should do... are you selecting the correct option from the drop-down menu of file types...

Your computer hates you.

Just kidding. My MSPaint won't let me save anything except in the format of bmp.

I click on the drop-down menu, and .png is not there. I've got .jpeg .gif and bitmap, that's it.

No! You guys must not be selecting the correct format, Go to Save, then type in a name, select .png from the drop-down menu

Don't do it that way. Upload the photo to http://www.imageshack.us and don't forget to check the box for resize and choose avatar. Look at the bottom of the pop up window with the hosting address' and you will find it's a .png

It loses it's color, and seeing as I'm making it for a website, I can't.

Go to File>>Save As..>> Change the file type to "all files", then for the name of the file, enter it and add the file extension: .PNG
It is easy. I had the same problem. The only reason your PNG is loosing color is because Internet Explorer doesn't have the correct PNG filters installed. Questions? PM.

Switch to the GIMP.  Much better.
