Just a random question. My college art class hires students to pose nude for 10.25 an hour, for about 4 classes every other day. Would you be all for stripping down to the bare minimum, or would you be against it? :p :D
-- Posted by BBallAsh23 at 1:25 pm on Mar. 25, 2004
so $50 a day? in other words... hmm... i might consider it if i really needed money... lol
-- Posted by JennyColada at 4:22 pm on Mar. 25, 2004
I would do it for another school...but I wouldn't do it for my own school.
-- Posted by weenickers at 5:29 pm on Mar. 25, 2004
yeah i agree with jenny. couldnt with some of the people there.
-- Posted by JennyColada at 9:22 pm on Mar. 25, 2004
Yeah, I wouldn't want to risk having too many people I know see it.
-- Posted by BBallAsh23 at 10:19 pm on Mar. 25, 2004
i wouldn't care... i mean its just art people drawing... and i'm sure they are mature enough to look at the human body without cracking up!
-- Posted by JennyColada at 11:10 pm on Mar. 25, 2004
Yeah, I'm not worried about the art students looking at it...I'm worried about the art students' friends looking at it.
-- Posted by BBallAsh23 at 8:15 am on Mar. 26, 2004
well maybe they wouldn't be aloud to take it out of class?
-- Posted by sakurag at 8:40 am on Mar. 26, 2004

I wouldn't see why a student wouldn't be allowed to take their work out of class. This is college, they let you do whatever the hell you want with your property.

I wouldn't.

And yet your membername refers to Playboy...hm...Random rant: but I still don't understand that "trend". All these girls are wearing Playboy stuff now...uh...hel-lo? I'm sure that 99.9% of these trendy teeny-boppers would never pose nude for anyone.

-- Posted by Iwannadoit at 4:33 am on June 6, 2004
Yes, I would do it. Only in an artistic class. Not a photography class. I see nothing wrong with it.

Why is it that all these girls have body and image issues? I dunno, but i'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm proud of my body. It's in good shape, health, and natural. Being nude is natural, and I have nothing to be ashamed of. The only reason I don't wear less most of the time, is because it's not socially acceptable to walk around downtown without a shirt on. You can when playing sports or at times, but when people expect you to have clothes on, well they expect it! I wouldn't care who saw me. It's not porno. If i ran for president or something, it wouldn't be like I was in a XXX porn, but was in a piece of ARTWORK! The art is supposed to be helping people learn in class, and beautiful. I've got nothing to be scared or ashamed of. I like my body, and if a picture of it was hung on a wall somewhere, i'd be flattered.

I am an Art major at my Uni. so maybe I can clear some things up. 1) Art students taking a figure drawing class will NOT judge your body. They don't care if you are overweight, skinny, have blemishes, etc. Yea they might take notice but they won't care. They are there to further enhance their skills in figure drawing, nothing else. Art student's are critical about their work, not the models. 2) Not just anyone can take that class. So if you think it be fun to draw naked people, there are courses before that you need to take. Sorry to those who's fun I just ruined. 3) Not just anyone can be a model. Reason: You have to be in a pose (not just standing) for 15+ minutes without moving. Models don't just go up there and stand for a few minutes. They are in poses. With lights hiting them from different directions. At my campus they only hire professionals because "amateurs" can't do it. 4) All types of sizes are welcomed for models. Again, students need to improve their skills and it is always best to have diff. types to draw. 5) If you are worried about other people seeing you (art student's friends) they wont. When you draw a model you don't focus on the detail of the face. This isn't a sketch for a wanted criminal. Most of the times you are lucky if the drawing has any little detail in the face. The reason it is called figure drawing is because you work mostly on the human figure, not face. In such little time to do different poses, student's don't worry about faces. One last thing I didn't mention up there. My art classes run two times a week. Each meeting is 3 hours long. Art student's can't rush through their work. They need time. Consider that as well. Hope I helped. ;) (Edited by ItsMyLife19 at 12:23 am on July 20, 2004)
