Starting right now, I will deduct 25 points for each reply that any member adds to any topic which is posted by an account which is clearly malicious towards LiveWire during an all-out spam attack.

This is when this restriction applies: Spam attack is defined as one person (or a group of people working together) creating multiple accounts to circumvent our banning system in order to post disruptive content on the forums.

Attacks against LiveWire are no excuse to dishonestly acquire points.  That is a Guideline, don't forget.

After I have to deduct points from your account twice, it will result in a Formal Warning.

EDIT: Let me summarize and clarify this, since there seems to have been some confusion

YOU'RE NOT GETTING 25 POINTS DEDUCTED IF YOU ADD A REPLY TO A SPAM TOPIC.

If, however, you follow a troll around posting nonsense, you'll be penalized.
The above explanation of this policy provided by member StonedInCourt

To clarify even more, and give a specific real example:
Code:
One person creates an account called spammer, and starts posting crap like "Spam spam spam" and "fsoaigadsugd" so we ban it, he makes spammer2, spammer3, spammer4, and so on, after we keep banning them and removing the content.

Certain members follow Spammer around, and post crap replies to the topics, because they know that the topics will  be deleted soon and that their replies would never be looked at or moderated.

Basically, taking advantage of a spammer in order to gain points

That is all that this applies for.

Thanks,

I didn't know you could just make your own rules.

It is already against the rules to dishonestly acquire points.  I'm just creatively enforcing it.  If you'd prefer, I can just Formally Warn people right off the bat.  If anything, I'm being courteous.

What the fuck? Why are we being punished for spammers?

-- Posted by DoomMaker at 8:46 pm on Jan. 6, 2007

You shouldn't take it too seriously.

Unless someone is clearly spamming the fuck out of the topic with twenty replies in a row, it's a bunch of crap. In my opinion.

-- Posted by iamironman at 8:46 pm on Jan. 6, 2007

Ouch, harsh. But very necessary. Good call.

-- Posted by ChemicEmotions at 8:47 pm on Jan. 6, 2007

What the fuck? Why are we being punished for spammers?

Because they have nothing better to do.
