Ive never had this before usually its always bright red. I would think since its not a light spotting i am not pregnant but i still dont know what this is about. Dark blood is perfectly normal, but sometimes it doesn't get that heavy/dark untill you reach a certain point in your puberty. If you were pregnant there would be no period at all. -- Posted by faithmarie at 9:59 pm on Jan. 6, 2007 well im not in touch with my body and knowing about it i should i am old enough but if im  not pregnant then im asking what it could be i know dark blood is normal but not normal for someone who has never had it and has had a regular bright red color all my life this is dark brown and dry at times -- Posted by SeXyReJeCt at 10:02 pm on Jan. 6, 2007 That's what I'm telling you. . . it is normal if you're growing.  Which you are, because everyone gets older every day. Darker blood can also mean you have more iron in your diet and other things that; really nothing to be concerned about. I'd be more worried if your blood was bright red and a light flow all the time because it means you could be anemic. -- Posted by faithmarie at 10:14 pm on Jan. 6, 2007 ok this is embarrasing but i am older im a young adult just very innocent with the knowledge of thinks lived in a box lol but my due date period hasnt even came so therefore it hasnt had the chance to be missed, what i am having is dark discharge brown -- Posted by dunebug at 10:29 pm on Jan. 6, 2007 Bright red blood = fresh Dark brown to blacky blood = Old. Your period came early but if it's more than you can handle with a pantyliner or two, it's still a period, regardless of the colour. Implantation bleeding is only a few drops/1-2 pantyliners worth for a day or two. If it really worries you, wait 2-3 weeks after intercourse and take a test. If you were pregnant then you would not be bleeding at all. If you are still worried about it take a pregnancy test or visit your doctor and find out matter of factly. -- Posted by amberlynn07 at 12:16 pm on Aug. 20, 2009 yeah my period was like 2 weeks late and i am having like almost a dark maroon color for my period..im not sure why. usually mine is a bright red and not as heavy but its heavy right now. nebody have any thoughts?
