Believe me, this is going to be one of the most ridiculous things that you will ever read..and i apologize for it being long.
It all started yesterday, My Mother baked a pan of brownies..half way through the pan I cut a brownie out of the center and my step dad flipped out and threw away the entire pan because i didnt eat the brownies in order--you apparently need to eat the one on the side first. My mom confronts him and they yell.
Today, apparently I put the parmesan cheese on the wrong shelf in the refridgerator so my step dad hid the cheese in the cabinet. I couldnt find it and then my mom bitched at him for being so childish.
Then to add icing to the cake, we didnt have dinner at the table, so my step dad flips out and yells at my mother, tells her to move her car so he can go out to eat. She tells him to stop being childish and they have been screaming ever since.
I came home from dropping my sister off at her g.s meeting and my mother was crying..
I can still here them screaming in the garage..
My question is..why is he such a douchebag?!

aww i feel bad, but i dont know why hes being an ass

That's crazy. My parents are just really overprotective and paranoid, but it seems like you have it worse. My parents don't usually fight or anything :[, im sorry that happened.
Maybe your  dad has some real physcological problems so just be very passive and patient with him, as well as with your mom.
comfort her when she is crying, but don't interfere when they are yelling at each other

Hey no hard feelings I completely agree. I think he is an idiot--he needs to grow up and realize your family is more important than the positioning of the contents in the refrigerator.

Sound like he's one of those kinda people that are controlling and anal to the point he wants things done a certain way or it doesn’t work at all (like my step dad). I'm sorry your step dads a asshole.

Yeah. He always yells at us and tells us that we are spoiled little brats and that we think the world revolves around us..but you can see that he wants everything his way..all time..and i mean everything.

It used to be a lot worse when I was younger. He had been really good lately, not getting all bent out of shape over stupid stuff...and then all of a sudden over the past two days he has been super anal over everything--I think he is on his period or something..lol

It sounds to me that your dad isn't a douchebag, but has a medical problem with him. Maybe OCD. However, i think the best thing to do is show your mom you still love her and hug her loads and tell her you love her - it will make her feel so wanted. Just ignore your dad for now.

Maybe he needs anger management.

-- Posted by vieve at 2:42 pm on Jan. 27, 2007

as mean as it sounds say."would everybody stop yelling when you know exactly whats going on her. would somebody please let me know

-- Posted by nanayangel at 8:54 pm on Jan. 27, 2007

I'm really sorry to hear that... Maybe there are some things that made all the anger build up inside of him... So when he's near explosion he blows up even at the smallest things...

I hope it'll be okay soon...

Anyways, I'm angel, a new member...

:/

well every person is different and you can't choose your parents so.....live with what you got. Unfortumatly your fater is immature and childish (no offence), other than that depending on your age, i would say move out so that you dont have to deal with the immaturaty of your dad. If your parents are having issues maby  you could move out with your mom
