i've got this emachines my friend gave me to fix... i've declared it dead but am not completely certain. the hard drive was fine, i took it out to rescue the files. i'm told the power supply was already replaced in an attempt to revive it... but that didn't work. what happens is when i plug it in and turn it on, nothing happens. the green light circling the power button lights up once its plugged in, but theres no response to button pushing :P is the mobo fried?

i wouldn't say that it is possible if the green light button was to turn on if you think it is a motherboard if the light is on then that means the motherboard is alive but i most likely think its the cpu or graphic card or integrated graphic card got burned out.

If you've removed everything that's not necessary for booting to at least the start up screen and then replaced everything else with a known good component, it's probably something on the motherboard that's died.

It is possible that your mobo is fried. Try changing the mobo.
