-- Posted by OzX at 9:24 pm on Feb. 22, 2007 i've got this emachines my friend gave me to fix... i've declared it dead but am not completely certain. the hard drive was fine, i took it out to rescue the files. i'm told the power supply was already replaced in an attempt to revive it... but that didn't work. what happens is when i plug it in and turn it on, nothing happens. the green light circling the power button lights up once its plugged in, but theres no response to button pushing :P is the mobo fried? -- Posted by Squee77 at 9:29 pm on Feb. 22, 2007 i wouldn't say that it is possible if the green light button was to turn on if you think it is a motherboard if the light is on then that means the motherboard is alive but i most likely think its the cpu or graphic card or integrated graphic card got burned out. -- Posted by Forever Angel at 9:36 pm on Feb. 22, 2007 If you've removed everything that's not necessary for booting to at least the start up screen and then replaced everything else with a known good component, it's probably something on the motherboard that's died.   -- Posted by Than Tan at 12:55 am on Feb. 23, 2007 It is possible that your mobo is fried. Try changing the mobo.
