why do people burb? did I spell or say that correctly? I think it is burb. You know when you eat something and then you burb. Is it to release gas? I just want to know and I have been thinking of this question. If you know it please answer.

Thanks to those who answered my question. So it is to release gases like I thought. I was correct. So That is why when you drink beer or a drink with gasses you burp after you drink it.
