If you still have them of course. Addition: You can ask a mod if they can bring up your SL application and then you'd have it to post. I see no reason why we can't post them. It will give other members who want to become support leaders a good reference of what kind of posts are expected from a Support Leader. I did not save mine. I think mine were pretty much on par. Nothing extra special. I tried not to post anything better than my usual level of helpfulness, if that. I figured I'd rather not get excepted for something that wasn't what I can put out consitantly. Does that make sense? >_> THey were all TDEI and TS, though. The first time I applied they were like, 8 different forums, and the mod who reviewed it rejected it for being too broad. Makes sense, since not too many people ehelp about homework.

Haha, nice jenny.

Oh yes, it was very supportive. But really, at the time I really did apply, I think we only needed like 5 links, and I think we just PMed them to David or something. I would guess that all my replies were from Teen Sexuality, but I really do not remember at all. I think I was like the first or second SL ever. *Beams*

Besides perhaps David himself, that must have been quite something. I hope other Support Leaders and members do stumble across this topic, because I have to say when I was first applying for SL the ... bar I had to reach seemed quite ambiguous, but maybe that was just me. :P

Reasons: I feel that I have the ability to provide thoughtful and offer good suggestions for people who are experiencing emotional and other problems. I self-injure (but am working on stopping) so I have the ability to empathize with self-mutilaters and offer suggestions on how to stop, and also provide alternatives and coping mechanisms for dealing with self-injury. I have been depressed in the past, so I know and recognize the importance of talking (perferrably with a trained professional, but on LW also) and letting emotions out. I am a peer mediator at my school and I talk to classmates dealing with depression, self-injury, parental problems, stress problems, and people who are afraid to talk to a counselor. I am a good listener and can almost always provide a comforting response or possible solution or idea to help solve a problem someone might be experiencing. By reading other Support Leader's posts, I feel that I have gained the knowledge of what constitutes a supportive and helpful reply, and I can provide possible alternatives and idea's to people's problems that might not have been thought of before. If chosen, I will work hard to help provide teens with alternatives to things such as suicide, cutting, and other self destructive acts. Thank you for considering me to be a part of the Support Leader team. I would like to be a support leader again. I feel like I have the knowledge and experience to help others. I've been through a lot in my life, and that means that I can relate to people seeking advice and help them. I feel like my advice is helpful to others. I try to think about an issue and come up with many possible solutions before deciding which is the best option. And I think that thoughtfulness is a good quality. In the past, I think I helped a lot through the ehelp system and I would love to have that opportunity again. I think that I have a lot of well thought out replies to offer. And I have no intentions of closing my account again. I think that through out my time on LW I've proved my ability to offer advice and support to teens, and I'd just like the privilege of being able to extend my help to those who send in e helps. Thanks for considering my application. That's one of the reasons I'm applying. I've been on LiveWire 100% of the last 30 days. Now, most of that time is spent worthlessly piddling away my time on topics that aren't constructive. But I would be grateful to be a more constructive member, and would have more than ample time to dedicate to fulfilling the duties of a Support Leader. I've also been a member of LiveWire for nearly a year and a half now (my original account was bHo) So it can be correctly assumed that I'll be at LiveWire for a good while longer, and would be able to dedicate that time to, hopefully, being a constructive and active Support Leader. Some of my replies (not the ones linked, just genreal replies in topics that you may have noticed) may contain, what some would consider spam, sarcasm, and overwhelming silliness. But rest assured that I tend to be a good judge of when a bit of fun is allowed, and when there is a serious problem that requires a serious answer. But enough of that, onto slightly more important things: Though I may not always have a fix-all solution to teens problems, I can usually provide some help. Sometimes it may just be a reference to someone that could help more than myself, and sometimes it may just be something to help them until the problem gets solved. Normally, I can relate to many problems that fellow teens have. Either from personal experience, or from having friends with similar problems. And I can more than not use an example to try and help a person in need of support. Also, and I hope a couple of my links back this up, I tend to get back to a topic a few times, and try to keep helping until the original poster stops responding and, hopefully, isn't in need of any more help. Like I mentioned, I'm, if I may be so bold as to say, knowledgable about a fair amount of teen problems. And I've also got a fair amount of more physical, academic, if you will, knowledge that could be in use. Having been through numerous Health, Sexual Education (concerning both males and females), and Fitness classes, I can also be of assistance in those areas. Also, again if I may be so bold to say, I have a 4.0 GPA and can normally help with problems concerning school work as long as they aren't from classes more advanced than the ones I've taken. I feel I'm a mature teen, that would be able to help other teens. I believe that would be a good, active addition to the Support Leader team. And I think that, if I were a Support Leader, I'd be able to give constructive advice and help achieve the goal that LiveWire was founded on: Peer Support. Thanks very much for spending the time to view and consider my Suppor Leader application!

I know I've said before that I wouldn't re-apply, but that was for reasons that I think I've now overcome. I guess at times I've missed being involved in the support aspect of the site, and when I did put some effort into a reply, I thought about the time when I used to be a SL. I believe that I have the ability to cover all parts of people's situations and understand some of the things that are going on with them even if they aren't detailed about it. I can devote my entire willpower towards what I'm typing so that I almost feel I am the person. Although I am definitely not good for every type of help one might need, I feel I am very thorough and can provide the sort of thoughts that will help one deal with an issue in the long-term. P.S. I linked to a topic (URL 5 below), and I would like to display all of my replies in it, not the topic itself (which was not started by me, haha). http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-bsayio-support-a.html#10 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-bsayyp-support-yn.html#20 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsenen-support-a.html#3 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-tyboas-support-a.html#4 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-tyeoyp-support-a.html http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nitaio-support-a.html#9 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-btsayt-support-a.html#3 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-tyeppb-support-a.html#7 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-tbteay-support-a.html#7 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-tyyebs-support-a.html#5

I've missed the place that Livewire was for me. I liked the chances I had to connect with people because of our common experiences. Since the last time I was a SL, I've continued to help people in the forums when my account was open, and I've occasionally browsed the forums as a guest when my account was closed. I'm still good with providing in-depth, open-minded support. I just want to go back to ehelp. I miss the challenges and the connections that came with helping people with the bigger issues. http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybbbpas-support-a.html#8 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybbnyiy-support-a.html#10 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybbsssp-support-a.html#7 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybneoon-support-a.html#2 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybnoobt-support-a.html#5 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybnbaty-support-a.html#8 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybnotbp-support-a.html#5 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybnnytb-support-a.html#7 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybnaoya-support-a.html#6 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-ybneisn-support-a.html#6

The mods can because we have a place where we can look at all the current SL's apps; all we have to do is go through it and find ours. For non-mods, I'm assuming they saved it in their notepad or something like that.

But it was either Enzeru/Jenny who talked me through submitting a better one next time =] I've been denied twice [for the above reasons, I have no idea which one this was] and accepted twice. Demoted on the mass demotion. And the one accepted for the support leader status I have today: I would like to be support leader because I like helping others. Simple as. But, I also have experienced quite a lot in my past that I feel I could use to help others if they have a similar problem to one I may have once had. I also try and put myself in their shoes if I have not expeerienced the problem, so I can get some sort of insight. So I can help them. I have been told by many people around me that I am good at helping them, giving advice and making them see their own problem from a different view, just so they can help themselves. When I have a problem I like to help others because it takes me away from my own problems. I just want to help people be as happy as they can possibly be, show them that there is (cliché) light at the end of the tunnel. I don't know if it'll take me or another support leader to do that. But I'd like to try and help them in some way. That it doesn't have to end here, there is always something worth waiting for around the corner. Also, using the e-help system will allow me to help more people. On the other aspect of support leader, I'd like to help new members find their way around the site, as at one point I was a support leader, and attempted applying for Mod, so I read all FAQs etc. And constantly read the updated areas, so I feel I could be of some use there. http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-357885-support-0.html#postNumber2 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-348648-support-0.html#postNumber5 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-346031-support-0.html#postNumber3 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-349010-support-0.html#postNumber11 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-349357-support-0.html#postNumber2 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-357891-support-0.html#postNumber2 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-358336-support-0.html#postNumber6 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-358297-support-0.html#postNumber4 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-358396-support-0.html#postNumber3 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-359809-support-0.html#postNumber4

I want to be a support leader because I like to help people. At school people tend to go to me for their problems, and I am always there to help. Another reason is that I actually follow up on replies. I don't put something down and never come back to any. There are some that I feel connected with, and want to see how they are going. I like to go back through my replies and talk to the people who I have replied to and give advice there.
Hey! Thanks for your advice :-) Im sorry about your childhood, but you telling me about it has brought up good points, I would hate for him to get attached to me and then we split up and it hurt his feelings and stuff. Im just so confused because as sweet and kind hearted and fun, and hilarious and smart as he is, he is not physically attractive and it sucks to say that but its the truth and, being unattracted has just kinda turned me off period lately. Plus as of right now, he doesn't have a stable career and he still has a roomate. but he was upset when I told him I was thinking about this and even cried :-( I feel horrible
-Blondedancer10, June 7, 2006 I have been around the block a few times. Stuff has happened to me and around me in almost all of the areas discussed on Livewire. I, recently have had a friend kill himself. One of the leading causes among teenagers is suicide. I can give help to those in pain with more than just what I think has happened because I know form experience. That is one example. I go to parties, I have gay friends, have been around/ in fights, have had fierce arguments with my parents so bad, that I have gone and lived at my aunt's. Experience will help me a lot as a support leader. I have also been a support leader in the past. I know how the novice and eHelp systems work. I closed my account a while back when there was a lot of things going on in my life, and this one stupid argument pushed me over the top. I had a positive support leader ranking and won an award for novice retention one week, as well as the fact that I was a manager of the support leader group. The second time, I was demoted. I wasn't on livewire a lot, so it was with good reason. I was working the whole summer, and tend not to be on the computer that much. During school, oddly enough, I am on more. I am going to be more supportive and answer every eHelp that I have good advice for. Thank you for listening to my ramblings, and I hope to help Livewire out again. My first one around was actually very thought out and all that. After the SL debacle, I never resubmitted till recently and I didn't work that hard at it, and a friend let it go through, probably mainly based on previous helpfulness. And no, I didn't save them.

dreamweaver Submitted: July 5, 2006 at 12:20am Accepted: July 5, 2006 at 12:27am PEER SUPPORT LEADER We want solid peer support leaders because they participate in helping our most fragile members. Reasons: I think I should be given the label and priviledges of Support Leader because I give good advice with as much info as I know about the subject. I try to be as real and honest as possible in my posts. Yeah, I know what you mean. I totally BS'd my reasoning, obviously. It seriously took me over 6 months to quit being so lazy and re-apply for one. They made me re-do it twice because they told me DT&RM replies don't really count towards support, which they failed to mention to begin with. But I only had 1 link, so I quickly changed it out with a better one.

Well I've applied for this more than a few times, what with leaving and coming back so often. Here's the last one: *********************** http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsenen-support-a.html#postNumber6 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsebpy-support-a.html#postNumber9 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsepit-support-a.html#postNumber9 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nseioy-support-a.html#postNumber5 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nseopi-support-a.html#postNumber10 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsebie-support-a.html#postNumber6 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsoobs-support-a.html#postNumber18 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsbpet-support-a.html#postNumber8 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsnepb-support-a.html#postNumber12 http://www.golivewire.com/forums/peer-nsntiy-support-a.html#postNumber15 It's been a while since I've filled one of these aps out, so do bear with me :) My behavior on the forums lately hasn't been the best. I've been active on this site twice so far this year, both times were spent mostly just posting for the sake of posting and contributing very little support value to the support sections of LiveWire. Truth be told, I grew weary of it, I suppose one can only bicker with other members and create quote pyramids for so long before having their fill. So recently I decided to visit the support forums to see if I still had it in me to give a helping hand to another member. I replied to one topic in TDEI and was amazed by how good it felt. I suppose I had forgotten what it felt like to reassure another human being, having not been supportive here since last year. I quickly began replying to topics that I felt I could give the best support for and it's almost like a rekindled love affair, however cheesy that sounds. I've placed more than the ten required responses in the forums over the past few days and I would really adore the opportunity to take it one step farther by becoming a support leader again. I can continue helping members in the forums and give particularly meditated support to those desperate enough to use the eHelp system. I've hit another rough spot in my life, and it seems giving support to other members in need is once again a way to escape my own life and mean something to someone else's. While my actions lately again, haven't been wonderful, I never once took that into the support forum and am very glad I kept it to DTRM. I have no intentions of going back to those ways, in fact I've only intentions to be supportive and playful on occasion. Thank you for reading through this, and thank you in advance for either accepting this application or instructing me on what I can do to better myself for a future application. -Swift ***********************

Well I didn't save the links to my helpful replies, but I did save the essay portion...: I like to help people. I used to hate it. Mainly because, all my friends used me as a sounding-board. I thought the were just using me for their own good, until they realized that I actually gave good advice and was an overall nice and caring person. It was then that I realized that I had been given a gift. I like helping people so much, that I've helped people I absolutely despise. You may be asking how I'm capable of such a thing? I was sitting in front of this sixteen year old girl, who I still to this day cannot stand. But all I saw was absolute pain and desperation. Tears, sobbing on the floor, the whole deal. What would you do in a situation where the one person you hated most in the world, is on the floor at the end of their rope? I did all I could do. Dropped to the floor and held her, and let her soak my shirt with her tears. Everytime I help someone, I learn more about myself. It gives me a sense of purpose and meaning to be able to help a struggling person overcome a problem. I first came to this website searching for advice. But I soon found that there were people on this site with bigger problems. Problems I had experience with. I know I've messed around on here a big, caused a few minor problems... But I'm really hoping you can look past that. I've changed my outlook on things, and on life in general. I think, that in helping people, we can help make the world a better place. I know LiveWire is a place to help teens. I would be honored to be given the title of a Support Leader and help your support team. Thank you for your time, and thank you for reading.
