I'll be receiving some federal aid for college, and was wondering 1) if they send it to you or the college, and 2) when you get it (e.g. mid-August, beginning of September...).

contact your school they'll know. don't trust answers here because it could vary on a state by state or school by school basis.

Yeah i agree, i read a book once where the college held it...but it was a fiction book...

Well, I personally never handled it myself as the state sent it to the school.  I don't even handle loans either- the school does. But if there was extra money there, the school would reimburse the money my way, I'm pretty sure.

If you're wandering about books and living expenses, it's usually up to you to figure out.  I reccommend getting a small part time job or at least one at the school you're going to (they tend to work with your schedule best).
