I'm trying to avoid plus-loans as I would rather get the loan myself and even pay for it myself as well. I have tried another relative my freshmen year and it did work out. Then I found out I was getting less financial aide than both of my brothers (who wasn't getting this same help) and it was because my grandma was helping me pay for it. It sucks that by my grandma helping me with paying for school that it actually hurt my FAFSA and financial aid. Right now, I'm just looking for a way to get a loan to help with school a little and of course help with my rent when I need it most.
