i am thinking about buying it i just wanted to know before i did what everyone thinks about it. It can make some pretty awesome stuff so...what do you think of it
I want to use it to help me design more professional looking webpages...

i've poked at it, seems effortful to use

i got it, *non legally* never use it.

can't be bothered to learn

I use it for my animation class and at home.

If you plan on buying it to make more professional sites, plan on making money.

It will take alot of time and effort to make the 'cool' things you see.  Once you spend the money and spend some more on a class or two you should be up and ready to make some pretty neat stuff.

Flash its pretty cool. I am doing a volunteer job where they teach me how to use flash for building a software. Its's pretty basic flash though. You can learn it in a few days by visiting some websites.. Basic part that is.

Yep... flash is good. Alot of people suck at it though :(

I like how flash has that actionscript, which seems almost like a full fledged programming language.

Other than that, I could not produce quality art if my life depended on it. :}

LOL sakurag.  Yes, the ActionScript is very cool.  Very easy to use too.  As for Flash, I believe it's a very good investment.  I use it sometimes instead of PowerPoint to make higher-impact presentations.

i got all the progs for macromedia, and flash is very nice feature.  I makes my site intros better than just a splash page.  It just can be very frustrating.  i got one example on http://flashkit.com, and onts on http://pop2.freelinuxhost.com/ <--- not spamming just helping him out.

I have the Macromedia Studio which includes Macromedia Flash MX 2004.  As others have said, it is a little tricky to learn and takes a LONG time to get good at it.  I wouldn't buy it unless you are serious about it.  I also wouldn't get any of those other programs that make flash files because you will not be able to make the quality stuff you want.  As an example: I made my movie website, http://mistmovie.com , from flash and it took weeks and weeks of hair pulling and going crazy to get what I wanted.  There are still many things I would like to know how to do in flash.

Good luck and if you have any quick questions about it, let me know.

HELL YAH I DO!!! I have been doen a couple of stuff for a site Im building  :D .

Get Flash MX if you decide to buy the program. IT's incredible if you know how to use it. Once you get all the details down, and the basics and intermediate you can start with basic site enhancement. YOu might want to take a class on Advanced flash once you finish the basics, because it gets kinda hard to learn on a web site if you don't have anyone to help you along.

it's overwhelming for a beginner like me...
