Is it a good idea to bring your xbox or other video game system to your dorm? Or is someone gonna jack it!??

Obviously you people have never been to a dorm.

EVERYONE has video systems in their rooms.

Plus you can lock your room, so theres not a huge chance of it getting stolen.

Don't listen to those other idiots

Everyone? I have no clue where the hell hinshawwrx goes, but that isn't the case at most schools. Some people have it, but not everybody. No reason it wouldn't be safe as long as you lock your door when you're not there.

I guess ISU and Bradley, SIU EIU and Milikin having Xboxes and PS3's everywhere gave me a false idea then?

Just a warning to gamers... Some students do tend to get addicted to thier games, stay up all hours of the day, and then realize that they've been on academic probation because of it. As long as you know how to manage your time and you know how to control yourself, you should be just fine. I've seen it happen several times... in fact, my ex boyfriend had that issue last year and ended up dropping out because of it.

If you're afraid someone will jack it, then get a trunk with a lock and stick it in there. But honestly, if you don't lock your door then having anything worth anything in your room is rather pointless. Otherwise, I don't understand what the big deal is unless your school has a terrible reputation with random breakins in dorms... which is rather unlikely.

A few people down here have games consoles, but they really don't play it that often because between work and going out etc, they just don't have the time.

for me NO! because you will forget all your responsibilities as a students. But if you want. it's your decisions. If you're afraid someone will jack it, do you have a dresser or a chest of drawer that has a lock on it? Maybe you can keep it locked up in there when you're not using it and just bring it out when you are ready to play.

don't bring it because your homework time will pretty much be spent playing video games and you won't study as hard for your exams.
