Wouldn't it be helpful if there was a way for those who post anonymous eHelps to anonymously message the support leaders who reply to their requests? Like say some anonymous poster was like "omg my family wants to chop off my foot and sell it on the black market" then some support leader was like "i had a similar experience." And now the anonymous poster would like to ask the support leader more about their experience. Wouldn't it be nice if they could message them?

They already can message us, but not anonymously. However no support leader would ever reveal their ID.

...yea my whole suggestion is sort of about the anonymity not the actual message feature because i'm aware that already exists.

In my personal opinion, and I know other members are bound to disagree with me.. I don't think theres any point in having an "anonymous" message feature.

I will like this feature until my pm box gets spammed by anonymous people. lol good examples in your op.

I like the suggestion. Another way to do it is to create a alternate account for your problem's and post eHelps non-anonymously. Then you'll be able to talk to support leaders, yet under the guise as an alternate account. I personally don't really see why it's a big deal that an already anonymous internet persona just can't talk to support leaders without fabricating another layer of anonymity. Moderators would need to be able to verify any anonymous PMer though, in case some use it to spam another members inbox.

I like the idea, but there's a few rough edges to it. For example, it would have to apply solely to anonymous members with an eHelp request, as the last thing we need is anonymous messages being sent by trolls (which they do enough with multiple accounts, I realize). But then would we be able to make that accessible for people who post anonymously in the forums as well? Same idea, but for forum questions? And THEN, it would only apply to those with legit support-seeking topics, not the anonymous "hai guyz wut did u do 2day?" topics and such. At which point I've no idea how David/moddies would manage that. I could go off on tangents for quite a while, I suppose. The idea itself is a good notion, though. And there's always the alternate account option (in moderation, naturally)

i was speaking only about eHelps not forum posts. that would be abused like crazy.

I know you were just talking about eHelps, but my mind went to similar people in the forums looking to stay anonymous when talking to someone who posted something in their topic. Of course they can continue the conversation in the topic and my whole shpiel would be completely negated

What would be cool is like the feedback you give if you're an anonymous eHelp poster. The written feedback goes to the Support Leader anonymous. But there could be a reply button to the message the SL receives ...

1 thing which i hate is when i get feedback from a guest or anonymous member, and they ask me to talk to them some more, i can't as i have no way of replying to them

yes that's one way of doing it. i know they get that message anonymously but what i'm trying to get at is it would be helpful to have a system of messaging where they can actually message back and forth.

Great minds think alike. Is there a way we can get David to notice this?
