i was in my first when i was 14 it was a major mistake...its a waste of time b/c i pretty much wasted about 1 yr of my life on someone who hates me now...its pointless

The average length of a relationship started at any given age increases as age increases, to a point, then begins decreasing by virtue of their total remaining lifespan decreasing. I would say that it peaks around 38-40 years of age.
