No, it won't work. Apple compatible hardware is required, and you likely don't have it. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. You can do the opposite, though. You'd be better off using an emulator if you only want to use a mac sometimes. If you want the full experience, be prepared to spend.

One, there is no such thing as "a" linux. It is linux. Two, why the hell would you want to switch to a Mac? For one, its not just a decision you make out of the blue "Oh, I think Im going to download the Mac OS and install it" You have to have your hard drive formatted a special way, and you have to have the disk prepared right for it to work. Then, you install it, and deal with all the bugs, because your computer isnt designed for it. I would advise not to switch to a Mac out of my personal hatred, but if you must, at least do it the right way and go drop $1200 on one. Edit: Yes, it is possible to install the Mac OS on a PC, but you have to pirate the disk, and do alot of prep. It does not work right unless you have an Intel CPU, and even then it is buggy.

That would be another proper way to say it.

You can't legally or easily download Macintosh OS X to a regular PC, Apple have that stupid chip in them that allows the software to be easily installed, 2. Macintosh Computers use EFI to boot unlike PC's older technology BIOS. My Mac can run Windows because Microsoft is open about what hardware their OS can use which is also why alot of people have more problems, Apple is proprietary and you can only use their Hardware
