Ok on the bottom right of everyone's post it says an option to ''hide'' Is that to delete the post, or what does it do?

Yeah, it hides it from other members. Like you know in some topics there will be a yellow line saying that the post was removed because it broke guidelines? That's what "hide" does.

Yes, click hide then choose a reason why. Then if someone else votes to hide it then it gets deleted.

You attempt to delete it. It needs 2 votes though, so one SL presses the hide button, and another SL can choose to delete or keep it. When a post is deleted, the SL who clicked the hide button first is the one the automatic message comes from.
