I'm curious as to what you other support leaders tell your noobs. If you don't have a custom insert, please say so.

Mine:

My name is Darragh and I am your "big brother" as such here.

In this dog-eat-dog world of Support Forums, I'm here as a guiding hand to help you through all your confusions, problems and queries. Feel free to ask me about anything you are unsure of, though I hope this message will help clear up a few things and make this whole site seem just a smidge less confusing.

You've made a good decision in joining this community. Here, we supply support, entertainment, news, advice and much more! You will come to learn that though we have many members, LiveWire is a tight-knit community of people with the same goal: to enjoy themselves and to help others.

The sheer size and complexity of this site may be intimidating, but don't be discouraged, friend. I am here to help remember!

Welcome to Livewire!!
My name is Jamie, and I am YOUR personal support leader!
you also have another message in your inbox telling you things that you need to know so you don't get in trouble with the administration and thats very important

If you need anything at all feel free to message me I love getting new things hahaha
there are a lot of very nice people on livewire and they are all here to help you with your problems as well as you helping them.

livewire can be a pretty complicating place, but any member whos name is Blue, or underneath it says support leader are always available to help, as most members are too!

That about covers it, if you need anything, or just need someone to talk to, feel free to message me!

Mine seems too formal in comparison.

Cor, we're meant to do custom welcome messages?!

Uhm. Woops.

We're not meant to. We have the option to add on to the ready-made welcome message - anything we think novices might need to know, or even just to introduce yourself.

Hey! I'm Matt, and I'll be your support leader for your first few days, maybe weeks, on LiveWire.

If you ever need anything, whether it be help finding your way around (those threads can be mighty dangerous!), changing your account, or just having a chat, then don't hesistate to ask me. I'm online practically all day, and am more than happy to help you.

Have fun, and behave yourself on LiveWire, or Davjs will get you :p

Matt*

Ah.

Nevermind then. I don't think there's anything missing from the default, and the novices wouldn't appreciate all the hard work that I'd have to put into it. The majority of them think I sit there and type out a welcome message for them personally. It's so sweet when they reply with "thanks!!" or something along those lines.

STFU.

I feel like a neglectful parent or something.

Fankyoo. Although I've just realised that apparently I think 'hesitaste' is a word...

Your's is nice. 'Big Brother'...Makes it feel like a family. Extremely dysfunctional, but a family nonetheless.

You're already deep into your bitter 40 somethings.

Midlife crisis, anyone?

Haha, might need to tweak that a bit.

Extremely dysfunctional, definitely!

Oooooft...

Bitch. Says the one who, after the realisation that she had hit the prime of her life, promptly drank herself into a coma, lay face down on a table half the night and vomitted ALL OVER MY WHITE SHOES!!!

Now THAT'S a mid life crisis.

It's very important that a custom Welcome Message is set for your novices.

Whaddayaknow?

Oh are you kidding me.

Why!? For what possible reason?!

They're not going to know. Unless they're a returning member, in which case they don't need to be coaxed through the early stages of lw life.

WigAOK9 anticipated that apparently:

This feature will help us build a stronger connection between new members and old members.

Hah!

Oh psh. Like any older member really has a "connection" with their allocated newbs.

Ugh, fine fine fine. I'll do one. I suppose.

I don't have one and don't plan on having one.  The auto message they get is fine enough as it is.

Let me be the first to say Hello and Welcome to the site.

I'm Adam, your support leader, I'm here to help you out with any problems you may have, and to make sure you don't get lost when browsing the site.

If you need help with anything feel free to message me at any time.

I hope you enjoy your stay here :)

Hi! Welcome to LiveWire! I just thought as your support leader I'd like to personally greet you! I hope that you have a great time on LiveWire, and if you need absolutely anything feel free to PM me.

I'll give you the basics of Support Leaders, LiveWire has a cool little Emergency Help link, that you can use to send a message to those of us, like me that are very supportive, regarding any matter that you think requires quick attention. Support Leaders are basically like moderators as well, they can delete posts and move topics. Well, not entirely like moderators, it just makes me feel good when I say that... xD If you just want general help/support/misc stuff make sure you post it in the appropriate forums! Or I'll have to get my big stick out and beat the living shit out of you! Joking, joking! I hope I didn't scare you off. Lol.

If you have a general question, try searching the extensive FAQs.

I'm your Support  Leader as I said above, and I really hope you enjoy your stay at LiveWire! Have fun!

Just remember, don't make enemies, make friends!

I don't know what I was smoking when I wrote that lol.

-- Posted by Periwinkle at 6:57 am on Feb. 5, 2008

I'm Fern, your support leader. I'm kind of like your big sister livewire - if you have questions about the site or don't quite understand something, then I'm the one to come to. I'm also here if you want to talk about any problems you're having in your real life, or if you just want to chat!

Make sure you remember to bookmark livewire and remember your username and password. Some really cool people come here but forget to come back!

Don't forget to start posting in the forums, too - the topics on the left of your screen are the newest ones posted.

Yeah, pathetic I know.
