What's the official line on these? Obviously it's not a straight banning for PBM, as there are members like Blue Automatic, who is obviously RedRevolver.

So are they allowed to return, and their conduct is under scrutiny? If so, then why aren't their accounts 'unbanned' after a certain amount of time?

Edit: I don't actually know anything about this place, as I was delightfully informed by several members:)

This is what i know, but take it with a grain of salt.

I believe that they are aloud to come back. I mean, it's obvious. But i also believe that if they do act up, start spamming or something, they get banned easier than other members.

Yes, their conduct is under scrutiny.

Hopefully that answered your question.

I've heard through the grape vine, and by grapevine I mean a random mod, that they don't ban members just on that premises.  They have to do something somewhat worth banning before they get DENIED. :)

If we just banned people for being a PBM we wouldn't have such sunshines as jehovah and BA.

Ok, let me narrow down the question, to avoid the plethora of identical replies that will no doubt soar down upon my words.

Why aren't accounts initially just locked?

Could it not go:

Warning.

Locked.

Banned.

It really depends on the member.

In most cases, we don't ban just for being a PBM, though we will put the conduct of members who have been banned under far closer scrutiny than others.

When looking at who to allow back, we look at why they were banned, their record before that, how sincere they appear to be, if they've been let back before...all sorts of stuff. We make the decision strictly on a case-by-case basis.

There's a lot of cases, though, where even if we'll let someone back on a new account, we won't give them their old one back.

And why would that be?

Why do we sometimes let back on other accounts, or why will we often not give them the original account back?

Sorry, why do you not allow them their original accounts.

Because often, those names carry a lot of associations.

Also, to be honest, they've lost the right to lose that account. That's the name they want? Tough. They were given a chance: they should be glad they're allowed here at all.

I would have just thought that created problems identifying returning members, and treating them as such.

isnt there a time frame for PBM?

like...48-76 hours? that has always been the way it has been presented to me

It's very easy for us to find out who's been here before. We don't have much of a problem.

And with that, I have another PBM banned again :)
