I want to install Linux on my Hard Drive, but... When I want to partition, I have to format my HDD, or something like that for some reason... I always have to create a new HDD setup or something...

I'm using Xubuntu... And writing this message using DSL... Help? Am I screwed? Do I have to buy another hard drive? Or is there a simple solution?

Although, I'm not liking DSL, because my Wireless Mouse doesn't work, and my Tablet doesn't move with it's location... :/

Partition the blank space on the HD, and then install it on that free space.

I can't partition the Free Space on the HD... It wants to partition the whole thing causing entire data deletion, or something like that... :/

Xubuntu is a different version of Ubuntu

Load up the the current OS on that HD and PARTITION it......

Actually, if you don't understand such simple steps...I don't really think linux is for you.

I DID... But from Windows, it will NOT let me partition. I've followed all the steps to do so, but the option does not appear, nor is there anywhere to click where I select shrink from the drop down list...

I'm telling you everything I can about this. I've tried partitioning from Windows, AND from Xubuntu. The Windows can't get me anywhere, and GPartitioner won't create a seperate partition
