I'm going to be throwing a dance party in my dorm for a friend's birthday. I have a good playlist, a strobe light, and plenty of room for dancing. I need to find some decent speakers. Other than that, is there anything that's absolutely essential to a good dance party (other than drinks, of course).

Make sure you have good, outgoing people there. The sort of people that can motivate and dance and just be fun, because sometimes people get shy, and you end up sitting on the couch with a strobe light jackhammering into your skull. And also make sure the playlist is a good DANCE playlist, not just a set of songs that you like and show off how awesome your taste in music is. Sometimes it's fun to put on like, one disco song, but it depends on the people attending.

People. Liquor filled chocolates. A bit of snack food or chewy candy. Cookies. Oh yes, the cookies.
