Ok, so i have a new imac running osx, and want to play my old games that run only on os 9. I torrented os 9 as a startup disk, so now i have that. And i have my Mac OSX Instal Disk 1. ow do i dula boot thes so i can play my old games?

Im not a .Mac person, but I havent heard of that configuration before, and chances are since you had to illegally download it, it probably wont work as planned. You might be able to use the same method you install Windows on it to get it to work though.

I don't believe you can install the compatibility pack on the Intel machines. This one of the reasons i don't like Mac's, backwards compatibility is pretty poor.

Well you can't really run Windows 3.1 programs that well on Vista. OS 9 and OS X are completely different in every other way unlike windows OS's. Thats why it's harder to emulate them. And the switch to Intel made it even harder. But to answer the OP's question, no you can't run OS 9 programs unless you have a Power PC Mac which has been discontinued a long time ago. You can run most any program though for any version of OS X.

Actually, for the most part you can run Applications on Vista that were used in 3.1, i do for starters. And comparing 3.1 and Vista to OS9 and OS 10.... lol, because that's fair...
